Rob Sand (Iowa 2005)

Rob Sand is a former Iowa Assistant Attorney General. He prosecuted mostly white-collar crime and public corruption, including uncovering the largest lottery rigging scandal in American history, which was covered by the New York Times Magazine and CNBC's American Greed. Other cases have been covered by 20/20, the New York Times, CBS This Morning, ABC News, and others. He was born and raised in Decorah, Iowa, and attended Brown University. At Iowa Law School, he was the first student ever to serve as a president of the student body and an Editor-in-Chief of a law journal. He also helped win asylum for a Congolese immigrant and organized flood relief efforts in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In recognition of his service and scholarship, Rob was awarded the Hancher-Finkbine Medallion, the University of Iowa’s highest award.
